Boca Juniors is interested in repatriating forward Sebastián Villa, who currently plays for Independiente Rivadavia. The negotiation was initiated by Juan Román Riquelme, despite the conflict over the player's departure in 2023. Villa considered himself to be in possession of his transfer and joined the ranks of Beroe Stara Zagora, a Bulgarian club. Boca's appeal to FIFA ended in a negative ruling for the club, considering that the matter should be treated by Argentine labor law. At the time of his departure, Villa was separated from the team due to a sentence against him for a domestic violence complaint. With Villa in Independiente Rivadavia and performing well, rumors of a possible transfer soon emerged. In addition to supposed interests from Europe, there was mention of a chance for River and even the player expressed his desire to be managed by Marcelo Gallardo. Amidst all these circumstances, a door has opened for his return to Boca: the player wants to come back, although he was vague and did not close the door to anyone. Although the release clause is six million dollars, the idea is to negotiate to try to reach an agreement between the two institutions. From Independiente Rivadavia, there is also a desire for Villa to stay and play the second part of the Copa Libertadores: in the quarterfinals, they will face Fluminense. This is their main objective, after being left out of the final list of Colombia for the World Cup.
